A RISING MABOPANE GOSPEL ARTIST

Here is Ompabaletse Sekete a 23 year old gospel artist who was born and raised in the Mabopane township. He started his music career at the age of 13 at a Sunday school choir under the leadership of Mr Edward Mahlangu well known as “Bra Murphy” and Mr Toka. He then proceeded to the Church male choir where his talent was best discovered.

He was also a dancer and backing vocalist for Morake Makhudu from his early age and was highly motivated and got inspiration from artists like Mr Teboho Moloi, Mr Solly Moholo and Mr Mpho Thosago. In 2020  he started recording his first album titled NKAPESE KA MATLA at FACE OFF studios which he worked with the likes of Edward Mahlangu, Ofentse Sekete and the late Thomas Kobo “It was a dream come true indeed because I never thought that I will be a Recording Gospel Artist one day” says Ompabaletse.

Mr Ompabaletse Sekete is the CEO and founding Director of a production and events company called the S Brothers which he released a single track HOSANNA with, they once hosted their first event and have recently started recording an album.

His goal is to work with upcoming gospel artist in Mabopane as a writer, producer and manager and also in collaborations. “I won’t rest until Mabopane is well known as the home of Gospel legends” says Ompabaletse.
