Mabopane island resorts held a Mabopane pride 2020 event on Saturday

Ofentse Mawisa Desgay Mathope who is a radio and Television presenter, philanthropist organized the Mabopane pride 2020 at the Mabopane island resort on Saturday, said that for past years they have doing picnics and now that they have grown their patron safety comes first, they wanted to get a venue first that has secure parking that will help people to enjoy the atmosphere.

The fellow organizers and the attendees were pleased with how the event went and they also requested to have another one later this month but Mathope said she will see how it goes and formulate more ideas to make it a success.

She believes that organizations like the government have not done enough to protect the (LGBTI) community and more collaboration is needed from media Houses to communities and gay activists so that the country can be a better place for everyone so that when a gay child tells his teacher at school that he is gay it won’t be Taboo and they will know how to go about it she said

Sipho Mnisi from Soshanguve is an Lesbian , gay bisexual transgender queer (LGBTI )activists under Multi sectorial aids Management on Region 1 which focuses on all areas including Mabopane, Soshanguve in terms of all the areas of Gender based violence , Health issues, he believes that the community needs to take parts in the LGBTI events which are meant for everyone because their part of education , in terms of improvement on the event they will consider doing a march so that community can get a better knowledge on how to treat the LGBTQ community. He said
