“Covid-19 pandemic brings Iketle day spa’s plans on hold”

Tebogo and Alga Pilane the owners of Iketle day Spa

Tebogo Maponya said that she is the founder of iketle day spa situated at Mzansi resorts In Mabopane. which she opened together with her mom (Alga Maponya) they opened the spa because they want to empower young girls around the community because only a few are fortunate enough to get tertiary education by teaching the trade, develop them and improve their self-esteem. Which at the end will see them having a skill that no one will ever take from them which in the long run they can use to open their own day spas as well, she said.

The day spa offers various services including makeup, micro blading, nails just to name and they also offer free training to girls around the community for free.

Maponya said that the ongoing covid-19 Pandemic affected their businesses negatively because when it started they had already worked on an expansion plan with branches that they supposed to open and unfortunately things were cut unplanned they could not go ahead and they also lost some of the girls they were working with so they had to take people on freelance basics because their customers are not fully back also their not fully operational

Tebogo said that she hopes that the new owners off the premises where their operating could bring new customers who are not on the Iketle day spa database like people who are coming to explore Mzansi resorts and they will find that there is a spa which is at a value added service to the client, she said.
