Modiegi “DJ syferr” Mokgwathi Musician and Co-owner of MmaBotswana ambition and Television Show

Modiegi “DJ syferr” Mokgwathi (25) is an Amapiano singer and co-owner of modeling agency, MmaBotswana ambition team & Television show from Botswana’s capital city, Gaborone. At the beginning of this year he started the model agency with his friend, now also business partner Wabie Lekoba. The agency was established to afford people who are into creative arts opportunities to mature their crafts and be ready to tackle the online world so that they can conquer the various challenges that the world brings them, and they can keep their dreams alive.

Mokgwathi highlighted that they face various challenges in the entertainment industry including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which has seen people in the entertainment industry without work for over a year now, and getting no salaries and/or exposure. This being a direct result of shows being cancelled due to lockdown restrictions. He was however, fortunate enough to come to South Africa and perform at the Neon Color Festival last year which was held at Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown, Soweto.

The festival equipped him with a prospect to come up with a vision that he is using today which is to help people who are into the creative industry to realize their dreams and to realize that it is not too late. The challenges he is facing with his entertainment hub is that people who are part of his hub are not getting paid, so they are planning to venture into merchandise sales and host online shows to enhance cashflow.

MoKgwathi said that he hopes to extend the MaBotswana Brand by bringing it to South Africa so that it can give upcoming artists a better position for growth.
