Mahlora Chokwe “Its Good to be Different“

Mahlora is one spontaneous young woman who grew up in the streets of Soshanguve. She is a sister of 4 siblings whom always think of her as their hero. Growing up Mahlora was like an observer than a contender from her childhood however her mind was busy inmost cases. She looked up to the great icons u can name in South Africa and abroad who lived their lives making a difference in other peoples lives. It was never easy growing up as her parents couldn’t afford better things for but what she’s grateful for is the fact that they taught us that God comes first before their situations and joy. With God we survived in those harsh experiences in which in peoples eyes they were not visible.

The question people asked about her and modelling was a question she was expecting because they never thought she could possibly go for it. Mahlora did drama, charity work, poetry and a bit of dancing there and there. today when it comes to modelling people become surprised

To her modelling is not about owning a beautiful body with nice legs and pretty face. She want to show how possible for a person to believe. She went there to remove circumstance blinding black young woman from townships about their background.

In 2016 she had an organisation of inspiring and motivating young woman until it faded because of the unexpected event that forced her to stop. Mahlora saw a post on Facebook about miss eagles south Africa 2018. She told herself that she’s going to enter and be the voice of young oppressed
woman and voice of the voiceless. In life everything happens for a reason.

She remember in primary she was bullied and I did nothing until she lost confidence in herself. Hence today she want the Lord to use her to change peoples lives, with an event occurred to her long time ago she want to speak and make a difference. Mahlora Chokwe is in the semi finals now and she’s hoping that she make change in a young persons life for them to believe in themselves. Mahlora is surrounded by all socials ills u could name and that is one other reason she saw modelling as a key to unlock doors of officials and get people to unite and fight against them.
