Kasi ladies doing well in business.
BY: SP Kgokong
Rich Lebethe’s is a company consisting of four sister’s from the same family the “Lebethes” and the company was established in September 2021. Originally the company had five directors but because of the challenges they faced financially one of the founding member left the company. Now Rich Lebethe’s is left with four sisters.
Rich Lebethe’s with the slogan “delectablewowfood” is a catering company which started in the midst of covid-19. The four sister’s decided to do something for themselves, tired of poverty and unemployment, they decided to start their own company.
With Ofentse Lebethe as chairperson/ manager, Kelebogile Lebethe as deputy chairperson/ face of Rich Lebethe’s, Mancy ( Lebethe) Sethole as treasurer and Ruth Lebethe as the secretary of the company.
Their SHORT-TERM GOAL: was to register their company, buy ikhokha machine and branding t-shirts (as part of marketing their business)
All these were met and now the ladies are focusing on their LONG-TERM GOAL: which is to have full catering equipment, employing youth in their community of Slovoville, near Winterveldt in Pretoria to eradicate unemployment and bring skill amongst the youth. Starting a feeding scheme for the underprivileged and aquiring space to build a fully equipped kitchen is the other long term goals.
CHALLENGES: Finance is the biggest, equipment and transport too. At one stage they had a gig and they had to contribute R50 each from their own pocket to buy traditional food. They also borrowed equipment from family and friends but unfortunately they went home without profits. This taught them many valuable business lessons.
Fortunately the Lebethe sisters joined the BFBmarkets group. The Basadi Farmers and Business Market hosts its markets every first week of the month at Mavick’s Corner in block X Mabopane, Pretoria. That is where they met with Mr Nkagare Makhudu ( Founder and CEO of Morongwa Foundation)
Makhudu came to their rescue by helping them with business solutions and ideas, they even catered food at one of his workshops for three days, which was a great experience and exposure for the company.
The Lebethe sisters would like to thank Mr Sethole for his support and encouragement. 🙏🏾
